Sometimes, I don't even know me.
You guys, I have to get this off my chest. So, I'm a bit of a technophobe (like THAT's news...), and I never joined the Flickr rush until after TequilaCon'07 when someone put the group photos all together on a Flickr grouping which (duh) you had to be a member in order to post your photos there. Fine. I joined. And added contacts, friends, family... and then promptly forgot my password/username, and no amount of reminders from the server seemed to bring it back.
Then, annoyed by not being able to comment and view my friends' and family's photos, I gave in and made ANOTHER Flickr account after our trip up Rainier last summer, re-friended everyone I could still find, and... promptly lost my username/password.
I was actually more embarrassed than pissed, if you can believe that. (And if you can, you don't know me very well.) So embarrassed, in fact, that I've refused to join up again, even though I'm missing out on all the great photos and comments everyone has posted. Stubbornly, I was just NOT going to make YET ANOTHER flickr account, which, I'd probably get locked out of promptly anyway.
But tonight?? Tonight, I was just sitting here, and I REMEMBERED! I remembered my password to what I thought must be a defunct Flickr account by now, but it's STILL THERE!!! I'm so excited!
I'm not sure whether to be more embarrassed by having lost multiple accounts, or the fact that I'm thrilled to have remembered one of them.
Seriously. Why are you friends with me? Aren't you embarrassed?

you are the best kind of internet friend because all your accounts make it seem like we have more followers, duh.
No worries. Here's an idea . . . tell one of your kids your user name and password. Then call that kid when you need to log in. That's what my mom does every time she wants to log into her Flickr account!
Now . . . will I remember my Blogger login so I can actually post this comment?
Not about being a technophobe, this age, geezer. I log into my Verizon account a couple times a month and have to look it up every time I go to pay the bill. Age. Yer OLD, OLD, OLD.
:P
We love you 'cuz you rock. Duh!
Soooo, does this mean we'll be seeing some pictures, or am I pushing my luck?
I'm totally embarrassed, even humiliated, ashamed, to be your friend. And I'm good with that. :p
The last flickr photos I see from you July, 2008. Should I be looking at some other account? Hmm?
Brandon: Oh good. Wait, you're not as popular as I thought? I don't know if we can still be friends.
Shawkey: You remembered! OK, I have a better idea: I'll give it to YOU, and email YOU when I forget!
Bloggy: Yes, well, I'm beginning to believe that "old" is preferable to "garden-variety stupid"... which is what I was feeling like before.
TysGirl: Please. I just remembered my password. Now you want me to take -- AND POST -- pictures?!
Susie: No, that's the most current account. ***waits for the significance to sink in*** See? Now you finally understand why you feel such humiliation and shame. ;)
(chanting: ONE OF US ONE OF US)
...ahem.
You wouldn't know the joy of remembering if you didn't forget.
That's my alibi...I think that's it, anyway. Got it on a post-it note somewhere...
;)
I'd be in the same boat (and still often am) if I didn't use the same password info each time for EVERYTHING! I know one isn't supposed to do this but one has to or one will forget her whole life. Also my computer is set up to automatically save all my passwords. Basically my brain doesn't have to remember anything. The fact that you remembered all on your own, without help, makes me love you even more.
I will NEVER be embarrassed to be friends with you!
Mo/Dis: What was I saying? I forgot. ;)
Kranki: Heh. My computer is set up that way too, but you're all kinds of f**ked up when someone "accidentally" deletes your cookies, your browser history, and everything. *sigh* But hey, it only took me a year to remember. It could have been worse, right? :)
Twinnie: Aww... you're just sayin' that because you're my bookend-twin and you can't get rid of me.
If you just made your password "limpy" you would never forget it.
No, that is not my password.
I had to check where I was. I could have swore that I had written this post.
I'm always worried that I'll forget passwords because I save them and don't have to key them in.
I wish you had an RSS feed for your blog. Would you please Tweet when you post? k thx bye
