I'll sign up for Flickr, really I will. Just not yet.

My mom was here visiting. I have proof:

And she went camping with us, or more accurately, she sat by the fire and told stories to Littlest Eclectic("LE") and generally kept him out of mischief:

And Riley went with us. He was rescued from an abusive home by a friend of ours who wants to adopt him, but has to convince her husband that they really DO need three dogs and two cats. In the meantime, we're "babysitting" him. He's a good lad:

We caught native rainbows with barbless dry flies on the Icicle River:

Oh, and meet Saphira, the newest member of our family:

Of course, like all good cats, she goes by "Kitty". And, as LE discovered, she hates being put in the kiddie pool in the backyard. *heh*

winston sends smooches to the newest member of your disgustingly gorgeous family :)

Kat: Saphira wants to know if Winston wants to adopt her. She's already questioning the wisdom of coming home with a family including a three-year-old.

How cute are they! The kids and the animals...the fish? not so much!

I am stunned by the beauty of your family! And of course, I now want another kitten.

I LOVE how "LE" is *winking* in the first picture with "Eclectic's Mommy".

NOW I understand the "sleepover Dog", thank you. I hope your friend convinces her hubby.

If not, then when I come up in September, I'll take him home with me. I will absolutely, positively give him a good home and your friend will be welcome for visits (but I want you to come visit us too!)

Traci: So, my plan to send you a fresh-water aquarium filled with trout is maybe a bust? ;)

Jenny: Like I told Kat, Saphira would gladly join, um, what are their names this week? So long as you promise to remain a 3-year-old-free household. She is awfully sweet though, in that new-kitten, endless-energy, REALLY-sharp-claws-that-she-doesn't-know-how-to-retract sort of way.

Sooze: Be very careful what you volunteer, my friend! He really IS a sweet, sweet dog. I'd love to keep him, but I'm not at all sure we can do it logistically. So if my other friend bails, he may be yours!!!

yaaaay! a new kitty for the Eclectic family-sooo cute.

and that poor puppy, who the hell could hurt something as precious as he. that makes me so mad. thank goodness there are people, such as your friend, to care for him.

how long will your mom be visiting?

*Cooing over photos*
That is so sweet that Momster and the kids are so close like that.

Riley: What a sweetie! People who beat their doggies are bastages.

The fishies: catch and release?

Saphira: *melts* What a cute widdle kittycat! No kiddie pool for her; if it were to be the opposite response, it wouldn't be a kiddy pool.
It'd be (wait for it)...

a kittie pool. *groaner*
I'm going to bed now. LOL

Dawn: I don't get people who take an animal and then won't care for it. I mean, if you truly can't, then that's what the Humane Society was created to handle. But for the love of everything, don't abuse the creature!

/steps off of soapbox

Saphira is pretty cute - you can't see her little white feet in the picture, but it looks like she's wearing little go-go boots. Mom had to go home already, but she was here for a week.

M/D: "Kittie pool"? Aaaaaaugh!!! You're a mess, but I love ya!

Aw Riley looks like a sweet boy.
Hey Sooz...you should totally adopt him if eclectic's friend can't...his name is RILEY...that HAS to be a sign:)

I love the cute new kitty. It makes me want one...UGH, I gotta get out of here before I end up needing a new cat too.

Congrats Eclectic!

Shelly

She is such a cutie!! That little face is adorable. So, does the little pool still hold water?

I'm trying to talk Phil into a sibling for Mimi. He's not buying it. Unless one shows up on our doorstep....hey, that just might happen ;-)

Shelly: Thanks!! She is just precious, although I'll be glad when she's old enough to retract her claws more reliably. It's like micro switch-blades, snagging every piece of clothing we wear. *sigh* The price of kitty-love, eh?

Amy: Thanks -- I liked it too! My son is so careful when releasing trout, it's difficult to get him to hold one up out of the water even for a second to snap a shot.

Lawbrat: I love her precious little face!! And yes, lol, the pool is still water-tight. But LE's wrists could be quite a sprinkler with all the scratches he's got!

Bloggy: How'd I miss you?? Sorry. Actually, I'm glad to hear a voice on the other side of the aisle regarding this Flickr thing. I'm such a rank amateur when it comes to photography, it's embarrassing to think of opening the account. But most everyone I know who has one just swears by it. So what's an Eclectic to do? Why don't you like 'em?

Kids and pets are so high on the adorable scale. Thanks for the pics. Sounds like you had a great time.

On the Flickr front, just do it. You can get free accounts, or a yearly subscription for $24. It's really simple and you can put multiple pictures (my blog's a testament) on a single post. It's a simple matter of copy of and paste.

We need to see more pictures. You need Flickr. :)

pLEASE sign up for the free account and then make me your friend. it's the only way you'll see the naked photos.

i KNOW you want to. just do it already.

Squirl: Pusher!! My sister, the pusher! ;)

Brando: Don't you find ducks just ever-so-much-more attractive with their feathers on? Still, the power to make you my friend... very tempting.

Barbless dry flies? Is that another term for "throwing dynamite in the water"?

At 9:13 PM, Blogger eclectic said...

Limpy: Ha! Yeah, something like that. Doesn't involve night crawlers, anyway.

I love that your mom told LE stories by the fire.
A new addition they get addicting I swear. A kitty is the only thing we do not have. Jimmy I don't think would like one. So that won't be happening but she sure is cute. Glad you all had a fun time.

and what a pretty kitty!

Ha! That last line made me laugh -- not the bit about the kiddie (kitty) pool -- the 'heh'.

Carry on, E!

On the Flickr deal, my biggest complaint is speed. It's not the slowest "photo site" but it ain't the fastest. Even on my good work connection I can feel it grunting along.

I'm also not crazy about it's "organization". Photostream my ass! It's an ALBUM. It has photos in it, it's an album!

And there's more, but I'm out numbered and I see my bitchiness showing.

I will say the best thing about Flickr is that when I click to see the full-size image, it's the actual image and not a compressed copy like what BLOGGER does. Compressing someone's image without a choice in the matter is ...is...a sin really.
