State of the Eclectics

For those of you who are either mildly interested or genuinely concerned, here's the current Health Report from Eclectic Central as of today's date:

-- Mr. Eclectic will report to outpatient surgery on Thursday for "open hernia repair", and will be fully recovered within 4-6 weeks according to the 'experts' of whom I'm not one, but still... I bet he's back on his game within 2-3 weeks instead;

-- Dr. Cardiology says I'm fine. Tests all came back 'negative', which -- perversely -- is positive... /enter soapbox because the medical community, in addition to being just generally arrogant, is also committed to the obfuscation of all things medical in order to perpetuate the monopoly stranglehold they have on information, which permits them nearly free-reign on pricing of services. /end soapbox

We thank you for your interest and now return you to your regular programming.

Did you tell them I said you have an extra big heart?!?!

I'm glad you're both doing well. Speedy recovery wishes to Mr. E.

Hugs

P.S. I really think you should join Facebook. I really, really do. It's not nearly as evil as once suspected.

Obfuscation. Somebody had to say it.

This is very good news. And I hope it gets even better.

And yes, come on Facebook, also known in some circles as MyFace.

Well, I am certainly glad your heart bits are ok and while surgery is never fun (even with good drugs) I know Mr. E will feel MUCH BETTER after everything is put back where it is supposed to go. Hang in there you guys.

How long until Mr. E is back on the bike?

I like your soapboxing! Glad the news is negative... I mean positive. Damn them!

TysGirl: Thanks for the wishes and the hugs, and of course I told them. I drop your name all the damn time. But FB? Not gonna happen. ;)

Squirl: I guess hernias are really, really common. Who knew?

Susie: Pusher! You're a pusher, I say. ;)

Vahid: See? What'd I tell you?

Bill: Thanks man.

Kranki: He's actually so relieved to get it repaired, he's almost excited for surgery. How wrong is that?!

Brandon: Classified. NTK basis only.

Zuhn: Hiya. :) Thanks for stopping by.

Asia: He'll be back on a stationary as soon as next week. I'm betting 10 days max.

it's important that mr. eclectic not get into doing too much too quickly after a hernia repair. i've been there/done that with a laproscopic (sp?) hernia repair of an umbilical hernia from a previous surgery. there is nothing you want less than to have a hernia repair fail, and it will fail if he stresses his abdominal muscles too much too soon after surgery.

A cousin of mine is quite positive that M.D. actually stands for Minor Deity from her experience with a few, both in the states and overseas.
