Presenting: Squirl !!
I am the luckiest blogger on the planet. I've been fortunate in the two years I've been blogging to meet a fair number of others, and so far, I'm batting 1000.
This past Monday, Squirl and "Ichabod" made stopping in my little town a priority on their cross-country trek to Alaska. See, to get to where I live, you have to really want to get there because it's not conveniently located at all. The nearest interstate access is 40 miles away. We met for lunch, and they kindly agreed to pose for this photo outside the restaurant:

Then, Ichabod took one of Squirl and me:

That afternoon, they took my family on an outing to Ohme Gardens. What? You mean you really thought Squirl could be here, and there wouldn't be photos of flowers?

Or children?

Here's a shot of Ichabod surveying the valley from a vantage point at the gardens:

Later, they joined us for dinner at a local Italian restaurant and we stuffed ourselves silly. Good conversation and lots of laughs, as you'd expect. We parted for the night, but met up again the next morning for coffee before they headed North. I miss them already.
Thanks, Squirly and Ich, for carving out time for me. You being here was a gift I will treasure always.

How very cool!! (And thanks for sharing your mountain photos with your internet friends, too!)
An out-of-the-way floral tour with Squirlie Joe Bob and the Bod of Ich!! Woo hoo!!

I am so glad you all were able to spend time together. I spent two hours with them and you know it was just natural. Like I had know them forever, instead of just know of them. That may not have sounded right . . . Oh well I am tired.
This makes me so happy. And sad. But mostly happy. :)
Lynn: I KNOW, huh? (And, you're very welcome!)
Bloggy: You can take the boy out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the boy, I guess. ;)
Nina: Exactly. So comfortable being together! That is what I imagine I'll feel when I meet you, too. It's nice to see you about -- are you okay?
Susie: Me too. Now I miss her more than I did when she was still imaginary. :) Soon, sister o'mine... soon.
YAY! Pictures! I'm so glad you had a chance to meet up! It sounds like you had a great time!
Ah, you took them to McGlinn's!
I see it from the photos. Very good choice, indeed. :)
As for the Italian place: Visconti's, perhaps?
Very happy to see photos!
Yay, new camera!
You and coffee in the morning... imagine that! Hehe...I'm so glad you had fun!
It was a great time, and you're a wonderful hostess! Well worth the trip off the highway. I can't wait for your family to come over to Michigan. They need to see the musical fountain.
:-)
As always... fantastic pics!
Wow....I've talked to Squirl on the phone, and I felt so, so happy to do that. And Ichabod has about one of kindest faces I've ever seen. I love these stories of bloggers meeting up; thank you for sharing.
Oh, what fun it is to meet up with blogger friends! So glad you could get together and enjoy all of that beautiful scenery to boot!
I'm so jealous, but then I'd love to meet you all in 'real' life. :)

"...and his momma cried..."
Amazing how imaginary friends can become so real. I'm hideously envious. As for the pics: as always ... breathtakingly beautiful!
CK: We did! But I can't believe you didn't show up. We waited, and waited...
Mo/Dis: Absolutely on McGlinn's, but we opted for Garlini's for the Italian. Yay new camera, indeed!
Traci: ***shrugs*** I thought I'd try something different for a change, y'know? ;)
Squirl: I KNOW! My mom will be so proud, too. :)
JDR: Why, thank you! Miss you, kiddo.
HTGT: Ichabod DOES have a kind face, and he's witty too! If you ever have the chance to meet up with Squirl in person, do everything you can to make it happen. She's a hoot!
Ortizzle: Thank you! It IS fun, isn't it?
Platy: C'mon over across the pond! We'd throw you a helluva party!!
Bloggy: Well actually, THIS momma laughed once you pointed it out to me... but whatever... :)
Nilbo: Meeting Squirl is understandably enviable, so you're forgiven. ;)
LUCKY Squirl! I know I just saw you a few weeks ago, but I'm jealous anyway! (Girls are like that ya know ;) Glad that you enjoyed your visit. The pics are beautiful!
Ang
You stuffed yourselves silly? Is this something I really want to hear about my sisters?
Oh, and Ha! You're shorter than Squirl! :D
Just wait 'til you stand next to ME!
Angie: September anyone?
Bucky: Hey! Can I help it if I'm the runt of the litter?! You got all the height genes, and I got all the, uh, all the, uh... um... red hair. Yeah. That's it. ;) And yes, your sisters stuffed ourselves silly. Cope.
Looks like a perfect day. Good weather, nice views and great friends.
