Boring Alert
You know what? The more you don't post, the easier it is to not post. And the more you fall behind on checking blogs and commenting, the easier it is not to log on at all. But my addiction to you, my internets, is strong; so here I am, despite having not posted or visited much for a week.
First: thank you for your collective concern. I survived. And so did Mom. We're really none much the worse for wear even.
Second: my mother-in-law will be here next Tuesday for a week. Really, two visits from maternal-types within a two-week span? Heaven help us.
The grandmas can't really be blamed for wanting to see their grandson in his final few performances of the summer's production of The Sound of Music where he plays the role of 'Kurt'. Still, the show opened on July 6... couldn't they have spread out the joy just a little? *sigh*
So, the next week or so I'll be in continued hostess mode and probably not around much. Since you're here though, help yourself to the liquor cabinet and wine rack... MIL's religion won't tolerate alcohol, so I sure as heck won't be drinking any. Just clean the place up before you leave, okay? Thanks.

Hey, just because her religion doesn't tolerate alcohol... couldn't you sneak a couple of swigs in a closet somewhere? Or sneak off for a liquid lunch one day, LOL.
Is Kurt the incorrigible one?
I totally hear ya on the 'not posting begets more not posting.'
If your MIL isn't arriving 'til Tuesday, there's plenty of time to take care of the alcohol before that. I'll be there sometime tomorrow. What? I like to help when I can.
Yea, we know what you mean. We are on a break from blogging at our place but are still checking on on peeps.
Holy crap...both moms in the same 30 day period? I think there should be laws against such things.
S
Oh, my! Another week, starting Tuesday? Looks like you have the weekend, at least.
Looks like there's always chocolate. Not as good, but it helps. :)
I think Circus Kelli barfed in your rose bushes. Lightweight.
How long is she staying for? I mean how long before you can have a nice glass of Shiraz?
You're a stronger woman than I am...I'd be sneaking sips while no one was looking ;-)
Oh and I STILL have the package for your b-day here. COMPLETE and UTTER slacker, say what?!?! Just didn't want you to think it got lost in the mail. I guess I'll just hang onto it though for a little while longer since you're not allowed to drink ;-)
How can she complain if you drink in your own house. Well, I mean, of course she could complain, but it ain't her place.
Kudos to you if you don't sneak a few sips. You know, it goes from getting pierced ears to drinking and on and on.
Anyway, good luck through her visit. It won't be too long before you can say so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbyee.
May you survive the MIL visit as you survived the M visit.
Wow. That's a lot of "momness". Hope it goes well.
Holy crap! Someone I know here just told me her mother in law is coming for THREE WEEKENDS! Oy...yes, she'll be here for the days in between too but dayum...that's too much mom for me!
Wow, all those parents so close together. Yikes.
I will have several drinks on your behalf.
Good luck.
Religion without booze is like a fish without a bicycle.
Or something like that.
Pass the tequila.
Whoo! I am already overwhelmed for you.
I hope it all goes well for you and that The Sound Of Music is fantastic, which I'm sure it will be. We're just finishing up the summer holidays here. I'm off this week and until Tuesday next when I take Stumpy and almost all her wordly goods back to school. I've not been around much lately either, but I'll be back soon and I expect more news! :)
Good grief, woman! That's a whole lotta "Mom" around your house. See, if you live close enough (but not too close) to them, they only come to visit for a couple of hours at a time. :)
(And I did NOT barf in your bushes! Blame Nils. I'm too busy getting the girls ready for their first days of school.)
so what you're saying is... clean your liquor cabinet out?
i like it.
kind thoughts, shari, kind thoughts.
Hi, Shari. Just thinking of you. xxx
Me, too.
Hey Sweet Cheeks, hope all is well!
Is she gone yet?
Hey Sweetie. Just missing you.
A.
lol, I know the feeling about post delay syndrome ;-). But I got deported! Does that make a viable excuse?
Good luck with the maternal presence. Mums are like the herpes you love, there is the flare up then the remission. It will go down in a week, I swear.
Just think, now you're like those happy people in the commercials with their happy dogs and canoes and bike trips with big smiles.
That was really gross. Sorry about that :-)
Howdy, sis! You should just come in and post a sentence or two so you have a post with a September date.
:-)
That is so true!
Posting can be very self-perpetuating or not!
Keep posting though...we like your posts :)

Ummm...knock, knock, knock...is anyone home in here?
Where's my bookend twin?
I swear, if you tell me you're doing something more fun than hangin' with all us bloggers...
