Images from Mt. Rainier
Looking up at the peak from the parking lot:

What a picnic table looks like when 5 climbers are staging their gear:

A look back at Mt. Adams from a mile or so up the trail:

Nearly full moon rising over Mr. Eclectic and me on the trail:

Camp Muir, elev. 10,188ft.(3105m) at sunrise:

Unfortunately, many of the shots are poorly exposed and/or horribly out of focus, so I'll continue weeding through them, but these are the best so far. They don't do the experience justice, but, they serve as a nice reminder nonetheless. Enjoy!

Beautiful! All weekend I kept thinking about how BIG Rainier is and how my cute little girl E. was somewhere on it. Glad you had a good time and SO happy you made it down safely. Can't wait to see the rest of the pics....and can't wait to see you again!
Ang
This looks absolutely thrilling. Very happy for you.
Cool sister!
The MT. looks small from the parking lot picture...I KNOW it isn't b/c I saw it on the way to your place a few weeks ago.
Thanks for the pictures...they are great. New camera takes great pics:)
Beautiful. Just ... beautiful.
They're gorgous pictures. I don't know what it is about them but I have a thing about mountains. They render me speechless in awe...
Awesome.
(You guys look pretty cute, too!)
You look almost alarmed in the pic of you and Mr. E. But your braids are super cute :-)
Oh an the other pics are amazing. Sheesh, I don't know why people accuse me of having a girl crush on you...it's not like I totally forgot to comment on the beautiful nature or anything.
Oh.My.WORD!
Those pictures are BEAUTIFUL!
Love to see you and Mr. E!
And seriously, that 3rd shot is frame/computer wallpaper worthy! (May I?)
Ang: I WAS on it!!! It was awesome, and I swear I could see clear to Portland!! Is it September yet?
Susie: Good description, sis, and thanks. I wish I could take you on the trail leading there. It's paved for the first mile and the little meadows and creeks are just beautiful. I know you'd just love it.
Shelly: I KNOW! The perspective in the parking lot photo was really interesting!! It's a great hulking heap of a mountain, and I still can't believe I nearly topped it.
Nilbo: Probably not to everyone... but I'm glad you think so. It was breathtaking in more than one way.
Platy: Me too. Amazing.
Ortizzle: Thanks! It was pretty cool being there.
Sooze: I was giving shutter info to the photographer and he snapped before we were ready, but beggars can't be choosers, eh? And hey, if my braids are cuter than Mt. Rainier, who am I to argue?!
CK: It was far more spectacular in person, but if you like the photo, by all means help yourself, sweetie!
WOW! breathtaking. Definatley something I'd like to try sometime :) glad you enjoyed yourself.
Wow. And more wow. Also, some WOW!
(ps - y'all are cute.)
The photos are great! My favorite is the second one--it makes me feel right at home. ;)
Gorgeous scenery. And you two are much cuter in person.
:-)
Wow. I love mountains. That third picture is chillingly beautiful. Mountainy and misty, like a Led Zeppelin song.
Hello, Shari.
Lucky you. So lucky. Now I'm aching for mountains. Is Mt. Adams the near one or the far one? I'm curious about these things.
Dawn: Well, we're planning to try it again next summer, but probably a month earlier so the glacier is in better condition. Wanna join us?
Kalki: Thanks! It's a "WOW" kind of mountain.
Shawkey: Ha! I'm not buying it... Maggie isn't that messy. ;)
Squirl: It was so great having you visit!! Are you sure you can't just move here?
Scott: I love mountains too. I wish I could send mountains to share with you, but I'm hesitant to send such things to Texas. Remember what happened to Alamo?
Peefer: Mt. Adams is the hunched, snow-covered bulk in the distance in the third and fourth photos.
Well I'm sure glad you took pictures, because I'd probably go no further than that parking lot!
Beautiful!!!
Now I'm jillis 'cause Squirl got to visit!
*pout*
I wanna come look at your mountains, too. Um, I mean...uh, er, um.
SierraBella: You're here!!! Hi!! So glad to see you!
Bucky: Tell ya what, you come to visit, I'll show you my mountains. Or foothills, as the case may be. ;) And that Squirly-girl? She's the bestest. I know you already know that, but seriously? She is.
You are beautiful...and so are our mountains!
You and Mr. Eclectic sure make a cute couple.
Hey! What have you done with Squirl? You can't keep her, you know.
Gorgeous photos. I bet you feel wonderful that you could climb it.
You look adorable and happy.
Nice photos. That looks like a beautiful climb.
Traci: And so are you, sweet twin.
I-Fi: Thanks, man. He's even cuter when he's not making that face. ;)
Susie: I can't? ***pout*** Why not????
Nina: Me? Happy?? Why, yes I am! ;) I know you're not the biggest fan of snow, but girl, the moon reflecting off the slope up that high was something to behold.
Asia: It was beautiful! Maybe you'll climb it with us next year after your ankle heals and the mountain re-freezes?
