Weekend Report by the numbers

  • Number of soccer tournaments in Snohomish in the rain: 1. Number of games played in the rain: 2. Total number of hours driven in the rain: approximately 5. Score at the end of regulation time in the first game: 3 - 3. Number of scoreless overtime periods: 2. Number of goals shot by our team in the shoot-out: 5; number of goals shot by the other team in the shoot-out: 4. Number of incredibly happy girls on our team: 14.
  • Number of birthdays celebrated: 1. Margaritas consumed: 10. Glasses of wine consumed: unknown. Pieces of homemade blueberry pie eaten: 10. Homemade rhubarb coffee cakes consumed: 1. (editor's note: Not my birthday, and there were 6 adults at the party, so it wasn't just me doing all that consuming. I'm just sayin.)
  • Segments of fence painted in the back yard after returning home: 3. Number of children painting: 2. Hours spent: nearly 2. Number of times parents were asked whether children could be done painting: 0, after parents explained that requests to stop before the agreed-upon number of segments were finished would be treated as requests to not be allowed to participate in after-school sports for the final week of school.
  • Number of mountains to be climbed at the end of July: 1 -- Mt. Rainier. Number of backpacks pulled down from the attic: 2. Pounds of training weight loaded in my backpack: 25. Number of training hikes this weekend: 0. No comment from the margaritas.

And how was your weekend?

You are one busy chica! You didn't tell us how many hours of sleep will be needed after all of that.

After all that I would have made a Bengay comment, but wouldn't want to send anyone to the morgue.

Man, I was just about to tell you how proud I am of how much you drank ;).

I could probably keep up with you on the wine & margarita training, but I am seriouly behind in mountain climbing. Are you actually going to do that? Sounds like a lot more fun than swatting flies and fanning myself here in Texas.

Shelly: Oh, I just sat on the sidelines of the soccer game. It was our daughter's team. But not for the drinking -- that was all us grown-ups. :) *mwa* back!

Zuhn: Ooooh, I like the new profile pic!! And I'm envious of your naps.

Kat: I like quiet. And I like drunken, too. Wanna hangout?

Bloggy: Icy-Hot. Or Tiger Balm. Either one. But never, ever Bengay.

Hilly: I KNOW, huh? That would have impressed me too, after I picked myself off the floor 3 days later. ;)

Ortizzle: Yep, we're actually going to climb Rainier. At least, that's the plan for the last weekend in July. Come join us!

So you're going to be mountain-climbing the last weekend in July? That's when we're planning to start our trip.

I didn't drink much, but it was a nice, quiet weekend. Yard work is now in my schedule. Kinda nice and kind of a pain at the same time.

My weekend was no where near as productive as yours. I think I need you to be my 'weekend productivity coach.'

Hey, Shari... if you come here and keep my family very very busy so I can nap, I'll make you cookies. :)

Oh wow - Rainier. I just saw it for the first time on our trip. Amazing.

Squirl: I hear you on the double-edged sword of yard work. On the one hand, it's so nice to have your own space; on the other, why do the weeds have to grow so quickly?!

Lynn: It was a good time. Next time you should join us! And yes, I presumed that y'all would tolerate photos of Mt. Rainier, assuming I summit, and assuming I have a functioning camera by then. :)

Iron Fist: Right. OK then, first you need to pull up duct tape off the city streets. What? You already did that?? Pfffffft... you don't need me! ;)

CK: Um... I think you already DID make me cookies! They arrived today! And they're gone. You nearly made my cry when I opened that lovely box of gifties. Thank you, thank you -- it couldn't have been better timed!

Kalki: It is such a beautiful mountain! I hope to make the summit, although if I don't get my butt in gear to start training soon...

This has nothing to do with weekedns, well not directly.
Are you anywhere close to Hood River?

I needed a nap just from reading that.

I am not too good with math but that seems to add up to a whole lot of busy.
