Spring Break (partially) Revisited
As my readership is by and large comprised of bright folks, you will already have deduced that there has been a dearth of pictures from our recent trip to sunny Florida. The biggest -- but by no means only -- reason for this is that after a trip to the beach, the camera no longer worked. In plain language, I got no photos of the children at Disney. Go ahead, gasp in dismay [here].
Before you stone me as a bad mother for not having picked up a few dozen disposable cameras, let me assure you that I did. But they are not electronic, and besides, I let the children be the photographers. I promised I would not blog their "work" without consent, because although I'm their mother and thus I technically own whatever property they have, I'm NOT a plagiarist.
Here, then, are photos of one of our trips to the beach, taken by me with the camera that has now betrayed me for what I believe will be its last time:

It was busy in spots, but more beautiful sand and water would be difficult to find.

How about a smile with a side of cheese.

He loved how huge the ocean is.

"If you eat my brocolli tonight at dinner, I'll totally help you dig out of there."

"Dang brocolli... now we're ALL gonna have to eat it."

sigh. Some day I'll feel like going somewhere :(
That wasn't a proper comment at all. Allow me a second chance: What a lovely beach, and such beautiful offspring, buried thereon. :)
Beach, ocean, kids . . . yeah, yeah*. But your dead camera--do you realize what that means?!? It's time for a new one!!!
Hmmm . . . perhaps that doesn't excite you as it would me. :)
*Indifferent attitude totally faked in order to achieve the proper contrast with the remainder of the comment.
It's about time that 1 pixel camera be put to rest ;-)
Cute pictures though! I just love Littlest Eclectic's cute smile. Man he and my Niece are going to be so cute together.
It sucks that your camera died before the vacation was done. I'm glad you got the beach pictures first, though.
i miss my big atlantic.
:(
Great pics of the little E's. Now you're gonna have to go out and buy yourself a bad ass D80....we want to but we're afraid of it. It looks like a relaxing (and warm) vacation.

Beautiful pics. I hope you all had a blast. Your kids would so love me. I would have volunteered to eat all of the brocolli.
Oh look! Buried treasure.
Sorry about your camera.
Cute photos! :D
Pictures! Yippeee! Damn electronics anyway...
Those beaches....I know I will miss that, about florida.
Susie: Every comment from you is proper. You WILL feel like traveling, and we'll go to a beach and bury some offspring together. Whaddaya say?
Shawkey: OK, so if I give you a budget and some parameters, you're going to find me the perfect camera, AND, teach me how to use it, right? ;)
Sooze: I know, I know... but it will take me enough years to figure out a new camera that THAT one will be obsolete by then, too. *sigh* However, you're right -- LE and Syd are going to be very, very cute together. :)
Squirl: Seriously! But sand and sunscreen don't mix with electronics, I'm learning.
Kat: Sorry. I'd give it back to you if I could. But for the record? That's actually the Gulf of Mexico in the photo.
Shangie: Hey, I'm the technophobe around here! I don't know what we'll get, but something has to be done.
Lynn: Ha! Actually, all three of my kids like brocolli. But, I lose my integrity when it comes to captions. ;)
Kranki: My favorite comment ever!
Mo-Dis: It's alright -- there's always Miller's Camera, right?
Traci: I know, huh?
William: Yeah, me too. It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. ;)
Manage to see Sponge Bob while you were there??
I'll bet once you had all three eclecticettes buried, you and Mr. E pretended to walk off, right? At least that's what I would have done with my superstar parenting skills.
"Damn the broccoli, damn you and damn the Wright Borthers!!!"
Stewie from "Family Guy"
Those are some awesome pictures, E!
That one with the beach and the umbrellas... just wow.
Lots of things don't work after they get sand in them. (Let's not mention the bathing suit incident here.)
If you throw your camera and it hurts itself, your husband brings a new one home that day. It is quite a funky trick.

delightful photos. i hope you had a great time in florida ! those kid-pods on the beach are kind of awesome.
Wow -- from those pictures I could remember being your kids' ages on a Florida beach. (And under all that sand is the safest place with their coloring!) :)
I want to play in the sand and sun and ocean, now. See what you all did to me.
I love the pictures!
I always marvel at the difference in color of other oceans besides The Pacific. It's a mental hobby ;).
I want to go to a beach and be buried in warm sand too.
sigh
you guys are so cute! i would totally eat broccoli with you.
Hi sister:)
mwa!
Shel
oh no!!! sorry about that :(
but, the ones you do have are perfect.
um... hello? anybody home?
Hi eclectic, we miss you, please come back. Hope everything is ok and you're just off supermoming.
I see what you're doing. We keep coming over to see whassup, and then the first line always says we're "bright folks," and we get all giddy and forget what we came for. But I'm on to you, missy. Now where are you?
Looks lovely, E!
Love the big ocean and the little boy.
The kids are adorable!
Two things - 1) I totally tagged you for a meme...sorry if you hate them and 2) I found a pic of us at TC that had me in stitches - I will be blogging it later.
Remind me when I have children to not bind myself with concerns of "plagerism."
Everything you do belongs to Daddy, pumpkin. That's how parent organizations work. I'm like Fox Entertainment and you're like MySpace...only without those creepy "True" ads. Nevermind. Who want an Otter Pop?
