My kids are faster than your kids...
OK, maybe they are and maybe they aren't... that's not the point. The point is, my kids just finished their first two-day race on downhill skis on Giant Slalom and Super-G courses, and while they didn't win, they performed consistently well. More importantly? They had a blast, and feel hugely successful because they improved their times steadily over the weekend. Their coach is moving them up into the junior race team as a result.
Oh, another result of this weekend? We are all utterly exhausted. But smiling. And that's important.
Pictures to follow, maybe even tomorrow.
(P.S. Confidential to Lisa: You Rock!! Thank you for taking care of my furry kids while we were away!)

Congrats to the kiddos! That is awesome.
I also wanted you to know that I miss you, and I'm sorry that I don't come by as I used to. Even when I'm not here, I'm here in spirit.
Love,
Dawn
Ooh! I LOVE G-Force/Battle of the Planets!
Way to go Li'l E's! Looking forward to the pictures.
Is it bad that I'm envious of Lisa and her time with the furry kids?
They did their best and had fun. What else could you ask for?
Give 'em some extra hugs from their virtual auntie. ;)
So great! Congrats to them!
Oooh,I can't wait to see the pictures! I'm jealous of Lisa too Sharkey. How cool would it be to not only take care of the furry kids, but to LIVE close enough to Eclectic to stalk her daily?!?!
Hi, E!! Having a blast is definitely the best part! I am looking forward to the photos. You always post such good ones.
Congratulations to the kids! I hope all were rested by this morning.
that's awesome!!!! they should be really proud of themselves. I cant wait to see the pics.
That's awesome!
And, um, Eclectic? I don't have any kids, so I think you've already won that one...that is, I don't think I had any kids.
*looks under the sofa*
Nope. You win. ;o)
I am glad they had a blast, and feel hugely successful . . . Smiling yeah that is very important. :)
That tears it. I'm starting our kids on a testosterone and HGH program until they can keep up with the super-children you're raising.
Congrats to your kids!!
Your kids are totally faster than my kids -- when it comes to skiing downhill. :)
Lawbrat: Hi Sweetie! Nice to see you out and about! The kids are pretty excited still. It really was a good experience for them.
Bloggy: ***assumes Bloggy is delirious from too much hospital food***
Shawkey: Nah, there's plenty of fur to go around! I'm working on pictures... I need you on retainer as our own personal and family photographer. ;)
Squirl: Hugs given... and quizzical looks returned. *heh* They're like, "Auntie Squirl"??? I just said, "Yep, and you don't even know how lucky you are!"
Amy: Thanks! They're still talking about how much fun they had.
Sooze: Oooh, please stalk me!! I'll share my furry kids with you anytime you want. In fact, how's today for you? Shall I send Brizzy right down?
Lynn: You always say such nice things!
Nick: Well, we're awake, but I wouldn't quite say rested yet -- we're working on it!
Dawn: Thanks! We're trying to scan the photos the pro-photographer took of the kids during the actual runs on the course itself, but since we don't have a scanner, it's taking awhile. I got video footage at the finish line, but it's on tape and I don't know if I can convert it to digital. *sigh*
Mo-Dis: You sooo didn't look behind the door in the front closet... there may be one or more hiding in there. ;)
Nina: That's what we think, too. Thanks for being here!!
Limpy: What? No EPO?? Tactical error, dude. ;)
CK: Heh! Only because there aren't many downhills where you live...!
Yay! Well done to the boys! We are so jealous - no snow here at all. Well done to them, though, I'm so glad they had fun. :)
Sounds like a blast! Your kids rock!
Heh... define "hill". Most of our "hills" are really the slopes of deep drainage ditches. :)
My skiing style is similar to that of Sonny Bono.
