Guest Post by (not so) Little Girl Eclectic ("LGE")
Hey Peeps!
This is LGE, and as of right now, it is officially Guest Bloggy Day. I'm blogging because this week, Mom received 2 letters from some blog friends in the mail (by the way, she really enjoys that -- getting mail). With a chuckle Mom announced that she loves her bloggies, thinks everyone should blog, and by the way, did I mention she loves her bloggies? There was a pause. Then, "Mom, is there some sort of kid-blog website? I want to blog." (This coming from me.) Mom said that if there were 2 bloggers in the house, there would be constant wars over the computer. Another pause. "Not that that's a bad thing..." she added. In a nutshell, I asked if I could post on her blog, and now, here I am -- posting.
Now that I'm here, I have a few questions; some of which being, "what does one blog about?" "what's the point?", "what do you guys say that makes my mom sit at the computer for hours at a time, laughing her head off?", and "am I welcome back to post occasionally?" Speaking of which, please have someone that you know, and who has never blogged before, post a greeting and an introduction to themselves. Try to get it to be your children, if possible. Leave all typos and have the rest of us try and guess how old the child is. This is optional of course, but I thought that since there's a type of show & tell with Stuff Portrait Fridays, why can't there be a Guest Bloggy Thursday?
TTYL!
~LGE
P.S. If any of you are watching the World Series, will you please send some encouragement to the Tigers (unless you're sworn enemy's, which I certainly hope you are not) because my dad is a huge fan (well, he likes the Red Sox better, but still...) and he really wants them to win. Thanks a bunch. ~LGE

Hi LGE! Nice to meet you! :)
Your Mommy is a hoot and a half, and she makes me smile right back.
Hey (not so) LGE, welcome to blogland. It's nice to see that your mom wasn't making it up when she told us how awesome you are. Speaking of which, that's what she usually blogs about. I think it's because it reflects well on her, but shhh, don't tell your mom I said that.
Also, if there were two bloggers in the house vying for the computer, I say, that's a great time to ask for a computer for Christmas, don't you?
See you back here soon!
Hello LGE!
Well, what shall we start with first?
"What does one blog about?"
Whatever's on your mind. This is basically an open journal, so you can write about anything you want, as long as you are comfortable with sharing the information on the web.
"What's the point?"
It's very theraputic to write about what may be on your mind and receive feedback from other people, plus you get to converse with people you would never really get a chance to meet *otherwise.
"Why is Momster laughing?"
We have our ways...
"Am I welcome back?"
Anytime you want, Sweetie.
*Just be careful with whom you converse. We're not all bad, but you will find a troll every great great once in a while. I'm sure you'll be okay, since you have your Mom to help you.
Just be sure to turn on your word verification for the first month, or the spammers will be all over your site.
Hi LGE! You've made a very nice post. I like that idea of asking for a computer for Christmas. I hope your Mom won't pinch me for saying that!
Hi, LGE! Drop by my blog and you'll see what makes your mom go "Awwwww". And the best part? She said you can HAVE one! Yay! You get to pick which one!
We try to make your mom laugh because she makes us laugh. But please understand, we're not laughing AT her. We're laughing NEAR her.
What do people blog about? Good question. Here's an exchange that will illuminate the issue:
"What will the blog be about?"
"Nothing."
"Nothing?"
"That's right. What did you do this morning?"
"Got up, got dressed, and came to work."
"See? That's a blog entry, right there."
"So ... nothing."
"Nothing."
Now, doesn't that make it so much clearer? And yes, you are welcome to guest blog any time. because hey, we check every day and your mom posts, what, once a week or so? So it'll be nice to have something new to read ...
Now, come to my blog and make your choice. I'd say Caesar, but you might like lil Juliet.
Your mommy is just the best mommy EVER.
Hello LGE! Too cool that your mom let you be guest blogger! You write well (isn't that such a mom thing to say?) and it's nice to meet you! I have 2 daughters still at home and we've worked out the computer usage thing pretty well so you and your mom can probably figure it out!
Hey LGE,
Welcome! You sound very articulate and very well written!! Excellent!
I like using my blog as a place to vent when I'm angry, write when I'm sad and share when I'm happy. I haven't written in my journal since I started blogging. I'm not as honest on my blog as in my journal, but it's a fairly easy substitute.
I also really like the people I have 'met' through blogging. I think I almost write for them sometimes. Is that weird?
If I had kids, I might let them blog, but I'm not sure how well my cats would do... and that's all I have right now!
Keep on bloggin'!
Hi LGE this is "Stumpy" and I'm platypus' daughter! Mum told me to look at your post and I thought it was really funny! =)
My mum checks your mum's blog every day and really likes what she writes and when she comments on 'our' blog.
I write comments on my mum's blog (occasionally) but I don't have my own blog yet (I'm still begging mum! Hopefully she'll crack soon!) But as for the whole 'computer wars' things, trust me I can relate!! But now mum's got her laptop for work so it's ok!!
p.s Guess how old I am *hint* I'm not seven =)
Hi LGE, it's nice to meet you! Your mom talks about you and your brothers all the time. She doesn't always come right out and say it, but her writing always conveys how proud she is of you three.
Blogs are a great place to write what's on your mind, and you really get to "know" other people who may be right around the corner or halfway around the world.
I really like to post pictures that I take. So I think you should ask for a computer and a camera for Christmas. :)
LGE: you should totally guest-blog your way around the blogosphere. Get a list of places your mom visits (and people who, y'know, generally like her and would welcome a guest blogger) and you could just pop up there on any given thursday.
Also, there's no point to blogging. It's entirely selfish, but that's okay because a bunch of selfish people all writing is quite entertaining.
Howdy LGE from the lovely (did I just say "lovely"? ewww) state of Kentucky. Here's an official YPS!! Saaaaa-luuute!
One blogs about whatever is on their minds. So mostly packaging, kids, brownies, Red Hots, music, etc.
Speaking of the world series, please ask your mother to explain the equation: sports=evil
Hi LGE, this is platypus (Stumpy's Mum)! It's so nice to see you blogging. Your Mum always writes great posts and you're obviously keeping up the tradition.
Stumpy is always nagging me about starting a blog - even before I started one myself - so tonight I have given in. You can check it out at http://stumpyscave.blogspot.com/
So, what does one blog about? Well anything and everything in my experience. One of the things I love about reading other people's blogs is learning about their lives, expecially if they live in another country (we're in England). Things that seem ordinary to them are not at all ordinary to us and it's fascinating, I think.
What's the point? I think people blog for different reasons but in my opinion the most successful ones are the ones where the writer writes because they want to and not neccessarily because anyone is reading. It's always nice when the writer interacts with the readers though.
As to what we say, we couldn't possibly tell you! It's funny (strange, not ha ha) but ordinary every-day stuff that you might laugh about at home can get people laughing all over the world.
As to whether you're welcome to post back occasionally - of course you are! Guest Bloggy Thursday is a great idea and if you'd ever like to visit my blog or Stumpy's blog to guest you would be more than welcome. :)
Hi LGE!!! Nice to meet you, I've seen pictures of you but its nice to "hear your voice" (you know, as much as you can "hear" through a blog) ;-)
To answer your questions:
I blog about nothing...nothing which is also my life. Boring stuff like work...oh and my weird dog....oh and of course my adorable Niece.
I don't know what the point of blogging is, especially my blog, but it's fun. That's the best way I can put it. You meet people (sometimes only through their blog but I've actually met a couple in real life as well!)
If your Mom is laughing when she's reading my blog it's probably because she can't believe anyone with a college degree could write such grammatically incorrect run-on sentences. One thing I've learned about your Mom is that she is incredibly bright and writes phenomenally well.
You are most definitely welcome back to guest blog in my opinion :-)
Hey there, LGE. Nice post.
If you are asking for advice, I have three things to say:
Always be yourself when you blog. Otherwise, what's the point, right?
Always be kind to others when you blog.
Always remember that you don't choose your readers. Your readers choose you.
I think you'll do just fine!
Hi everyone! Thank you for commenting...I wasn't sure anyone would. I know that there are some typos- Mom wouldn't edit what I wrote this time....Anyways, may I sugest that you visit Stumpy's new blog? It's really cool!
~LGE
CK: Hi Circus Kelli!! Thank you for answering!! I was so glad to get a comment, and you were the first one, so a million and one thanks with a cherry on top!! Speaking of which, ice cream anyone?
Zuhn: Thank you for the complamints! Also, I already have a computer, but it's not up and running yet, plus it's not connected to internet.
Darn it!
I like how you're thinking though....
Mo/Dis: Thank you for answereing my questions and for the advice! Plus, I like the name, "Momster"-it suits her.... :)
Lynn: Nah, she won't pinch you-I can beat her in an arm-wrestle, so she won't mess wit' you (though she claims that her 3 inches taller than me is enough to be dominant-whatever!), 'cause she's too scared...Ha.
JDR:
*peace signs*
What's up?
Nilbo: Awesome, I get first dibs??! Cool...so, when are you dropping them off? (hee hee hee)
Traci: Thanks! How old are your girls? (I want a head-start on ages in case my game comes back to haunt me like it did with Stumpy...)
Hemlock: I don't know...cats are suppposed to be pretty smart, or at least when they're compared to a dog's i.q. level! :) Personally, my cat is very intelligant-she paints masterpieces on our bathroom sink with only a little backwash/water as her 'paint'!! Her little paw-prints cover the entire place!!
***Well, I thought it was cool.
Stumpy: Your new blog is so cool!! I'll visit you as often as I can!!
Sharkey: How 'bout a camera-phone? I already have a computer, though it's not up and running yet.
Bummer.
Mike: I agree! Selfish people writing would make quite an interesting topic... :)
Mr. Bloggy: Why do you say, "ewwww"? The Kentucky Derby is right there, hullo!! What's a YPS? I don't actually find Red Hots that appatizing, though brownies are delicious...
About the sports=evil-I'm already familiar with your anti-sports drama, and I have to agree, which is why I asked on my father's behalf, see?
Platypus: Hi! I just recently visited Stumpy's new blog, and it's incredible!! Thank you for answering my questions, I appreciate the fact that you took the time to answer them! :)
Also, I think it is amazing that you live in England! My mum says that now I have a sort of blog-pal, instead of pen-pal. A strange coincedence is that at school, in my social studies class, we are doing projects on different time periods and the country where it occured, and my project is taking place in UK! I hear that the countries are rather low-lying (close to sea level), am I correct? Thanks for stopping by!
SoozieQ: Is your 'wierd dog', Moto?
My mom has been telling me stories about her...good ones, of course...
When I told Mom about your 'grammatically incorrect' sentences, she laughed out loud, so I'm pretty sure you're in the clear on that one. =)
Curtis: Thank you! I will most definitly keep your words of wisdom with me when I blog.
Hi LGE, thanks for your reply. Yes, the part of the UK in which we live is quite low lying but Britain itself is divided roughly in half so the South is lower lying and then you get the Highlands and higher ground in the North. I hope you're enjoying your project and if you need any help with it you know where to come to ask!
I've mailed Stumpy's e-mail to your Mum so that the two of you can chat off her blog if you want to. She's very excited about the thought of having a blog-pal too!
Have a good weekend. :)
Don't find Red Hots ...app....*faints*
Hi, LGE :) I was happy to see your post. And you reminded me of the time my own LG guest-posted on my blog. I went back to find it, March 16, 2005.
My LG is at church right now, but I'll have her come and comment when she gets home.
My daughter wants to blog, too, when she sees how much fun I'm having. I'm afraid we might have computer fights, too, though, if that ever happens.
Before I started blogging, I thought it was a crazy thing to do. I couldn't believe that people told strangers about their lives, and that the strangers actually came and read! But now I'm hooked. Reading blogs is like reading ongoing autobiographies of people you actually "know." Or at least we feel like we know other bloggers after we spend some time reading what they write.
I feel I have come to know and love your mom, for sure. Some of my very favorite friends now are blogfriends. I look forward to meeting your mom some day "IRL" (in real life -- that's another thing about blogging, you learn a whole new language :)
I'll send LG over soon. And yes, LGE, please do post again.
Heya there LGE!
I blog for all the awesome support I get from my blogfriends. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year at the age of 35 and I can tell you being young with breast cancer can be very lonely. Everybody stepped up and was there for me through my blog. Your mom has sent me millions of sweet commens over the last several months. She is the best.
I don't have kids but I do have a very cute cat who wants to say hi.
jhxcn
That was her on the keyboard. I assume that is cat language for hi.
Hey, LGE. All those questions you have I have to. It's nice to meet you.
LG Fairchild
Well nice to meet you LGE!
Great job guest blogging! Hope you return soon!
I always blog about whatever is at the very most front of my mind.
See you soon!
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for commenting! Sorry I wasn't able to blog over the weekend--I got grounded from blogging because I was spending to much time on it...'sigh'. Now I believe you when you say that blogging is addicting!!! ;)
~LGE
Platypus: Thank you SO much for mailing Stumpy's e-mail to my mum's blog!! Oh, and thank you for putting my mind at rest for the whole, "low lying land" topic--I really appreciate it! (It would have bothered me all day!) :)
Mr. Bloggy: What are *faints*? Like Susie said- there's a whole new language to learn in blogland, and keep in mind, I JUST GOT HERE! A little help, PLEASE?
Susie: You are a very thourough writer--thank you! You made a whole world of sense, and I can't wait to meet your LG!! Oh, and you are definetly correct in saying that there's a whole new language to learn-I've already come across SO many initials, and I'm hoplessly confused. 'sigh'
Von K: I'm so sorry! It's gotta be aweful. Well, I am sure glad (now) that my mom sends all those goodies to you-I didn't know who they were going to, and the only thing I knew was that mom had FINALLY made sweets, and now..she was..sending them away...pure torture. But now I know who they're goin' to, so by all means, take them!!
Cats on the keyboard?! Wow, even the animals are being affected by technology!! :) However, I suppose that I'm just as bad-I let my cat play Bach and Mozart on the piano, and I let her paint on the sink, and- naw, that's enough I think, better stop before I reveal anything else...
'Hi' to you to, Von Kat!
LG Fairchild: Hey LGF! Nice to meet you! If you want to meet another kid-blogger, check out Platypus' daughter, Stumpy's blog! IT'S AWESOME! Nice to meet you too!
Amy: Nice to meet you! Thank you for stopping by to comment!
HelloKittn: Hi! I'd like to say more but i have to catch the school bus. TTYL, ~LGE
Here I am....late as usual.
Hi LGE!!!!! Welcome to the world of blogging!
Angie
How did I miss this post? Blogger is being weird, I had to refresh the page to see there were more posts.
Hi LGE! I love that you have posted as a guest. Look forward to hearing more from you soon. ;)
Hello! Sorry I couldn't get back to you guys 'till now. I've been grounded from the computert for spending too much time on it....anyways, I'm back.
Peefer: Ahhh, you read that one...I do, don't I? LBE is so silly. I can't believe he's my brother!! Thanks for stopping by!
Angie: I know how you feel. I find myself late a lot too. I mean, what kind of person get's back to her commenters months later!?! You probably won't even revisit this particular comment section because I'm so late in getting back (not my falt--I was grounded), and I'm probably writing all this in vain. Oh well. At least NOW nobody will know about my grammer errors...
Nice to meet you!
Nina: Nice to meet you too! I love your profile picture (dogs rule)!! Don't worry, I'll be back-wa ha ha ha ha, WA ha ha ha ha!!!
I'm not actually that evil, I swear!! :)
TTYL,
LGE
