Like peanut butter

Of course you know it's got lots of fat, but you tell yourself, "It's good fat, right?"

And the sodium... god! It's sure to shrivel your kidneys, but you console yourself that you'll only have a little.

Yeah, it's sticky and difficult to eat, but paired with bread and jam the problem's solved.

No matter how much you know you should stay away from peanut butter, you just can't.

Ha! Not two minutes ago, J.P. said to me, "Guess what I had for lunch today?" I, of course, had no idea, so he said, "Peanut butter and jelly!" Then he said, "Guess what I had yesterday?" Yep, you guessed it--peanut butter and jelly.

You and he must be on the same wavelength. I like it too, but the peanut butter MUST be Jif creamy. No Skippy!

I like Jif, too. But Ichabod likes the natural kind. My nephew, when he was really young, said it felt like it had sand in it.

But I like Jif creamy, yes!

When I was in South America all of the yankees were dying for peanut butter. I can take it or leave it. My son, on the other hand, can only take it. He cannot leave it. He can eat institutional tubs of it at one sitting. He's got problems.

Hello, Shari.

If you eat peanut butter on a stalk of celery, the nutritional values cancel out, so it's like drinking water. Only it tastes WAY better.

Too funny! I've been on a total PB&J kick lately - had it for dinner last night, and breakfast today.

Uh, yeah. I'm not exactly the person to look to for health advice... ;)

Everyone: I had no idea so many of you were closet peanut butter addicts -- shall I start a support group?

Actually, used in this post, peanut butter was intended as a simile... I suck at being oblique, obviously. But you guys are cracking me up, here! Cheers!!

We're all going to die anyway. It would be a shame not to get our fill of peanut butter before that happens.

I grew up on a diet of peanut butter and brown sugar sandwiches--you gotta try it!

Peanut butter usually makes anything better....and if it doesn't work with the flavours, then ketchup works!

Oh, I think you're in the clear on this one. I DEFINITELY classify fats as good vs. bad.

Potato chips -- Axis of Evil
Peanut Butter -- Our Ally

And so on, you get the picture.

I'm not a huge fan of P.B.....every once in awhile I'll have a PB&J. I think I ate too much of it as a child.;)

PBJ sandwich I don't like . . . but peanut butter in cookies or with chocolate is a different story.
The dietitian told me after my heart attack to eat peanut butter it is the best food for you. She was talking about the natural kind. The kind you have to mix after it sits for awhile. The oil and the peanuts not the processed kind with added sodium and sugar. I tried it and yuck . . . even John who loves Peanut butter wasn't impressed.

Ok, I *thought* it was more than just Peanut Butter because of the title.

And I have to come clean...PB is *not* my thing. As a child, I prefered Tuna sandwiches (with onions ~ WTF? What a weird kid, huh?). All my friends were eating their PB&J sandwiches while I ate my "stinky" sandwich. I was such a rebel.

But the reason why I didn't comment was partially because I didn't want everyone to know how WEIRD I was as a kid ('cause you all know I'm totlly normal now, right?) and because I thought I was missing *it*, while everyone else was on the whole ACTUAL peanut butter thing.

But I can think of a lot of things that are "like peanut butter" but I'd have to put in another *thing* that I truly do know is bad for me but can't give up :-)

Peanut butter and strawberry jam on a toasted sesame seed bagel. My favorite breakfast. I am always so sad at the last bite.
