Til' the season comes 'round again...

Random snapshots of Christmas:

What is the word for this? I cannot name it, but it is here all around me. It is not precisely a feeling, nor yet a presence, although there are characteristics of both within it. It is not peace, not contentment, nor even relief. Whatever it's name, it fills me, surrounds me and beckons to me, and I am aware of it only now in the empty space under the tree, the fading glow of the fire, the loaded dishwasher and crowded couch.

It reassures me... but I don't know of what.

I can’t name it either, but I remember the feeling—and miss it.

I know the feeling...there's just no name for it that really fits.

Funny that ssnick was the first one here. Before I even clicked on comments, I ran back over to his archives and swiped this:

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." Bobby - age 7

That sounds about right to me.

Sounds like we both got hit with the Christmas spirit in the end. Figures! Here's wishing all the best to you in the New Year!

I agree with what Susie swiped, love, and also maybe completion - another family time that makes us more complete. As a family and as a person. ec

SSNick: Oh Nick, why is it missing? I'd better pop over and see what you're up to. Hope all is well.

M/D: I certainly hope you got to experience it this year, sweetie!

Mrtl: It is, isn't it? Hope you get some rest soon!

Kylz: You're so sweet! My Chrissy (and I LOVE that term, I'm stealing it for next year) was filled with more love than I can hold, so I guess I'll have to see about giving some away...

Nina: See, you always have the right words! Yes, memories -- and they're precious.

Lawbrat: Oh Dawn, I hope that your memories will sustain you and your family through this time of loss. Thank you so much for taking time to check in here -- it was a lovely Christmas.

Matt: And also to you! Thanks for stopping by.

Squirl: Yes m'am, even Brizzy had a full stocking and lots of ribbons and bows to strew around the house!

Susie: Children have a much clearer window on the intangible than we adults, sometimes, don't they? I'm glad your day was spent in the company of the ones you love, and the One you love.

Curtis: Yessir, better late than never, eh? And thanks for the good New Year wishes -- right back atcha, love.

Mr.Eddie: I like that -- it comes very close to what I experienced last night. Hope your holiday was blessed and bright.

I'm going to break from all the touchy-feel comments and say . . . is that a Packers shirt on Grayson? That's J.P.'s favorite team.

Glad you had a good Christmas, and hope you're still feelin' the love.

I'm such a copy cat...I too am not going to comment on the warm fuzzy feelings I get from this post, but instead ask if Brooke's hair was wet? It looks more brown than red in that first picture and I can't imagine she'd dye her hair?!?!

I sure love me some fuzzy Brizzy :-)

M/D: I saw it! SO COOL!!

Sharkey: Absolutely! He declared himself a GreenBay fan when he was 4 or 5 and noticed the big "G" on their helmets. He thought it stood for Grayson, and they've been his team ever since. Go figure!

Sooze: Good eye! Yep, she was fresh outta the shower. But she didn't want to wait to dry it to open gifts. So, wet hair in the pictures!! And I'm sure fuzzy Brizzy would love him some SoozieQ, too!!

But I can't see what is being opened and I can't reach da puppy. :(

That looks so TAME. What polite children you have. Our house looked like Dorothy landed in the middle of it the MOMENT we woke up.

"Dishwasher is loaded" - I think that feeling is "Ahhhh, sleep".

Bloggy: There was so much stuff being opened, it's almost ridiculous! The puppy, however, would love a vacation with his Uncle Bloggy. So, just let me know when you want him -- preferably while he's still chewing EVERYTHING in sight.

Jim: Ha! Tame, not so much. However, at the risk of bragging, they really are pretty polite.

Why doesn't the dishwasher unload itself at the end of the cycle?? That would just be so useful!

SWLF: Thank you so much! It's so nice of you to check in here. And I like the Kodak moment -- it's very accurate.

Judy: Thanks sweetie!! Happy New Year to you, too!

Kranki: Such a nice compliment! I'm happy to see you stopped by -- it always makes me smile.

You're such a sweetie. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yes I missed you. I'm glad you were doing something fun (skiing).

Please do check out Moto's video when you get the chance. You can see him at his *ahem* finest.

Glad you're back Eclectic :-)
