Bits and Pieces
I was going to write a funny story today, but I lost my muse. Which, should mean I'm a-mused....which I'm not. Think about it.
***
How to make me laugh: Answer my phone call on the first ring, laughing, and say, "STOP stalking me."
***
Favorite song of the hour: "Wheel" by John Mayer.
***
Best moment today: A complete stranger sitting adjacent to LE and myself at the local Taco Bell completed her lunch and asked if it would be alright to give LE a quarter to get a toy from the little vending machines in the lobby. Stunned, I said, "Sure, but may I ask why you want to?" To which she replied AND I QUOTE: "He is the most delightful child that age I have ever, ever seen and I wanted to give him a tiny piece of the joy he gave me just by being here today."

Football practice 5 days a week? At age 8?? For the love of everything.....
***
Football practice + Soccer practice on the same night, at the same time, in different places = pizza for dinner.

How cool is that? That right there just brought a little tear to my eye and I don't even share DNA with LE. You must have been *so* proud.
You win atrophy for Most A-Musing entry...how's that for pun? *giggle*
Football practice, 5 days/week, for an 8 year-old? *blank look* Huh?!
Yeah, I can see why my parents didn't enroll me in anything back in the day. Geez!
LE is the cutest.
Atrophy? Get it?
:::crickets:::
What a warm feeling it is when complete strangers are impressed with your children. That was such a sweet story.
I dont get the 5 days a week for 8 year old football.

On another note, Brennen's ankle is getting better, coach said for him to come to practice starting next week and see how it feels to run on it. He only has practice 4 days a week, and he's 11. And its track, not football.
Wow, that is sweet with the lady and LE and the quarter.
Football practice 5x a week for an 8 year old. Football practice + Soccer practice on the same night, at the same time, in different places. Reading this today has made me glad that my children are all grown.
What, LE's happiness is only worth a quarter!? :)
Must have been a great feeling though.
Love the pun! So funny. Read this book:
Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life by Amy Krouse Rosenthal
It just struck me that you'd probably find it delightful. She's v. punny, too.
I love the quarter story. Ichabod tells me that Rocket football is always five nights a week. I wouldn't know, my bothers didn't play.
heh-heh atrophy
Love the bits and pieces, especially the Taco Bell snippet!
I love strangers like that. I love the moments when I've had the impulse and the nerve to BE a stranger like that.
Soozieq: It was very cool, and yes, I was proud. He is kinda cool, as kids go.
MD: a-trophy?! Genius!!
Lawbrat: Oh I hope Brennen gets to run. Fingers crossed...!!!
Nanina: You promised!! I'm holding you to it! You promised they'd grow up. Are we there yet?
Zuhn: Wierd, huh? Amazingly, whoever said a quarter can't buy happiness forgot about bouncy balls. Insta-happy.
Jill: Thanks! I'm just finishing a Barbara Kingsolver and am looking for something new to pick up. Your timing is perfect!!
Squirl: **heh heh** When I typed your name just now, I made a typo and it said "Squirt". *heh* And now I forgot what I was going to say... *sigh*
Sierrabella: Good to see you out and about! Um, I wouldn't know anything about a party at your place while you're unavailable... or anything...!
Susie: Amen! It was definitely a heart-warming experience. I shall look for opportunities to "pay it forward."
