Happy Birthday to me...

Although it isn't until tomorrow, this would indicate that it's going to be a very happy birthday indeed! Here you can see two of my favorite things up close and personal. Yes, it's a bottle of scotch. Sorry Brando...tekilla just doesn't have a chance with Glenfiddich around. Yes, I like it straight up, although I may not be able to stand straight up thereafter. And yes, it will last me well into next year unless any of you are up for having a shot or two with me...! And the roses, well...they're just so doggone beautiful, I couldn't resist showing them off.
Happy Second and Fourth, everyone!

Happy Happy Birthday!
Have a enjoyable and relaxing day!!
That's too weird. I was going to say Happy Happy Birthday, which usually is not the way I say it. :-) I, too, like to sip whiskey straight. Right now it's Crown Royal. But a bottle usually lasts me for years. Hope you're having a wonderful day and enjoy the holiday.
Peter: Thanks! And thanks for stopping by.
Squirl: Thank you, thank you, which usually is not the way I say it, either! ;) And I love that you sip whiskey straight -- I'm not alone!!
We hiked about 20 miles into the Enchantments, a nearby mountain range within the mighty Cascades. Left the trailhead @ 2:30 a.m. and did the first 5 miles up to Colchuk Lake in the dark with headlamps. But as we reached the lake, the sun was just cresting Dragontail Peak and the early rays crept across the water. It was a breathtaking moment. So silent, so beautiful. The colors are intensified in that atmosphere.
By the time we arrived at the top of Aasgard Pass, we had gained around 6,000 feet of elevation over the 9.5 - 10 miles we'd climbed. Then the same distance back to the car, and home to the kids who were excited because, well, because birthdays are exciting... and it was really a perfect day. *happy sigh*
Hi- came over from squirl's!
Happy Birthday to you!
Nice gifts!
Sierrabella: Welcome! Thanks for coming by and wishing me a happy birthday. They are nice gifts, aren't they?! Of course they're not assless chaps, but I guess you can't have everything...!
Oh, I'm late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY! The hike sounds perfect. Just enough time away, then back to celebrating kiddies.
Happy Birthday, again; you get two since I'm late.
Sounds like a lot of hiking for a lazy ass like me. :-) Glad you had a good time for your birthday.
Susie: It was perfect, for so many reasons! And I thank you twice for the two 'happy birthdays' -- if you're going to be that nice about it, you can be late ANYtime!
Squirl: Somehow I don't think you could be the lazy ass you say are. Looks to me like you're a sneaky ass instead, sneaking in here while I was replying to Susie!
